The Rewards of Soul Winning
Psalms 126:1-6
Psalms 126:1
- When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that
dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing:
then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. 3
The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. 4 Turn again our
captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. 5 They that sow in tears shall
reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall
doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
I Kings 8:18 “And the LORD said unto David my father,
Whereas it was in thine heart”
Matthew 23:37
- O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which
are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even
as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
But thank God our labors are not in vain in the Lord.
I. The Reward of the Pursuit of Souls
Isaiah 55:9
- For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your
ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and
the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and
maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to
the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not
return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall
prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be
led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you
into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
II. The Reward of Problem Solving
Hebrews 12:1
– Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset
us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto
Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before
him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of
the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners
against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
III. The Reward of Profit for the Savior
Job 1:9 - Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job
fear God for nought?
Galatians 6:7
- Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he
also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption;
but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we
faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men,
especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
IV. The Reward of Potential Souls
Revelation 14:13 - And I heard a voice from heaven saying
unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea,
saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do
follow them.
V. The Reward of Praising the Savior
