SEEING THE NEED LUKE 7:11-17

I. HE FORESAW THE NEED - 11.And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

1. FAITHFULLY IN PURSUIT - And it came to pass the day after,

2. FINDING THE PEOPLE - that he went into a city called Nain;

3. FRUIT WAS PRESENT - and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.

II. HE FOUND THE NEED – 12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man  carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

1. HE FOUND THE DEAD - Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out,

EHESIANS 5:14 - Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

2. HE FOUND THE DESTITUTE - the only son of his mother, and she was a widow:

3. HE FOUND THE DEVOTED - and much people of the city was with her.

III. HE FELT THE NEED - 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

1. HE SAW - And when the Lord saw her,

2. HE SYMPATHIZED - he had compassion on her,

JOHN 15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.14  Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.16  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that

3. HE SPOKE - and said unto her, Weep not.

JOHN 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

IV. HE FACED THE NEED - 14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

1. HE ACTED - And he came and touched the bier:

2. THEY ACCEPTED - and they that bare him stood still.

3. WITH AUTHORITY - And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

V. HE FULFILLED THE NEED - 15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother. 16  And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. 17  And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.

1. HE RAISED THE SON - 15  And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak.

JOHN 10:10 - The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

2. HE RETURNED THE SON - And he delivered him to hismother.

3. THEY REJOICED IN THE SON - 16  And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. 17  And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.
