The Book of the Revelation Chapter 1
VIII. Request - Revelation 1:10-11
1. PRAISE TO GOD – 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's
day,
2. PRESENCE OF GOD - and heard behind me a great voice, as
of a trumpet,
3. PETITION FROM GOD - 11
A. HE CALLED – Saying,
John 3:29 - He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but
the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly
because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
B. HE GAVE HIS CREDENTIALS - I am Alpha and Omega, the
first and the last:
John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All
things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
C. HE COMMANDED - and, What thou seest, write in a book,
Jeremiah 11:4 - Which I commanded your fathers in the day
that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace,
saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so
shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:
D. HE COMMISSIONED - and send it unto the seven churches
which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto
Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
Ephesians 5:23 - For the husband is the head of the wife,
even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own
husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved
the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it
with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a
glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it
should be holy and without blemish.
Ephesians 3:19 - And to know the love of Christ, which
passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20 Now
unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us, 21 Unto him be glory in the church by
Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
