The Book of the Revelation Chapter 1
V. Return - Revelation 1:7
1. REVELATION - “Behold, he cometh with clouds;”
Acts 1:9 - “And when he had spoken these things, while they
beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And
while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood
by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye
gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven,
shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
I Corinthians 15:51 - Behold, I shew you a mystery; We
shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the
dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this
corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal
shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is
written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
I Thessalonians 4:13 - But I would not have you to be
ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even
as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose
again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For
this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain
unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the
Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in
the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Zechariah 14:1 - Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and
thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations
against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled,
and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and
the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall the
LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of
battle. 4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which
is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the
midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very
great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half
of it toward the south.
Luke 21:20 - And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with
armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21 Then let them which
are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it
depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22 For
these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be
fulfilled. 23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck,
in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon
this people. 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led
away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the
Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. 25 And there shall be
signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress
of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts
failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on
the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see
the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these
things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your
redemption draweth nigh.
Mark 13:24 - But in those days, after that tribulation, the
sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25 And the stars
of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 26 And
then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and
glory. 27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect
from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part
of heaven.
2. DECENTION - “and every eye shall see him,”
3. EXONERATION - “and they also which pierced him:”
4. COMPREHENSION - “and all kindreds of the earth shall
wail because of him.”
Zechariah 12:10 - “And I will pour upon the house of David,
and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications:
and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for
him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as
one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
5. EXCLAMATION -“Even so, Amen.”
