When Jesus Prays!

Luke 22:31

Luke 22:31 -  And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. 33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. 34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.

I. The Lord Cared - And the Lord said, Simon, Simon,

II. The Lord Had A Concern - behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

Deuteronomy 11:22 - For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him; 23 Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.

III.  The Lord Had A Cure - 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not:

Romans 8:34 - Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Hebrews 7:25 - Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

John 13:27 - And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly

IV. The Lord Had  A Commission -  and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

I Thessalonians 5:17 - Pray without ceasing.

I Thessalonians  5:23 - And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I Thessalonians  5:25 - Brethren, pray for us.

II Thessalonians  1:11 - Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:

II Thessalonians  3:1 - Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
