Proverbs Chapter 29
VI. Rule of Wrong - Proverbs 29:22-27
A. It is Always Wrong to be an Avenging Agitator - Proverbs 29:22 - An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
B. It is Always Wrong to be Adversely Arrogant - Proverbs 29:23 - A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
C. It is Always Wrong to be Abhorrent - Proverbs 29:24 - Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.
D. It is Always Wrong to be Afraid - Proverbs 29:25 - The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
I John 4:17 - Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19 We love him, because he first loved us.
Psalms 56:1 - Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me. 2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High. 3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. 4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. 5 Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil. 6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul. 7 Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God. 8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? 9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.
E. It is Always Wrong to try to Go Around - Proverbs 29:26 - Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment cometh from the LORD.
John 5:22 - For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:..... 27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
John 6:37 - All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
F. It is Always Wrong to be an Abomination - Proverbs 29:27 - An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
An abomination is a stench in the nostrils of God!
Deuteronomy 7:26 - Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.
Deuteronomy 22:5 - The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
Leviticus 18:22 - Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Proverbs 6:16 - These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Deuteronomy 25:16 - For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.
